Virat Kohli, Prasidh Krishna Retain Top Spots in IPL 2025 Leaderboards After SRH vs DC Washout

A washed-out match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Hyderabad on Monday evening left the IPL 2025 Orange and Purple Cap standings unchanged, with Virat Kohli and Prasidh Krishna continuing to lead their respective charts.

Kohli Keeps Orange Cap in Tight Race

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli remains at the top of the Orange Cap table with 505 runs from 11 innings. Hot on his heels is Gujarat Titans’ (GT) B Sai Sudharsan, who has amassed 504 runs—just one behind Kohli—from one fewer innings, making the race for the top run-scorer one of the closest in recent IPL seasons.

Mumbai Indians‘ (MI) dynamic batter Suryakumar Yadav occupies the third position with 475 runs, while Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is right behind him on 473 runs from 12 matches. GT’s English powerhouse Jos Buttler (470 runs) and captain Shubman Gill (465 runs) round out the top six.

Prasidh Krishna Still in Charge of Purple Cap

On the bowling front, GT pacer Prasidh Krishna continues to dominate, leading the Purple Cap race with 19 wickets from 10 matches. Just behind him is RCB’s Josh Hazlewood, who has taken 18 wickets in as many games.

Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) Arshdeep Singh made a significant leap in the standings after claiming three wickets against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Dharamsala. With 16 wickets from 11 matches and a better economy rate, Arshdeep currently holds third place over Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Noor Ahmad and MI’s Trent Boult, both of whom also have 16 wickets.

Rain Halts SRH Momentum

The no-result in Hyderabad denied both SRH and DC an opportunity to climb the points table, and while Sunrisers have shown signs of improvement in recent games, however, their resurgence may have come “too late” in the tournament to make a meaningful impact.

With the playoff race heating up, the battle for the Orange and Purple Caps remains a thrilling subplot in what continues to be a tightly contested IPL 2025 season.
